Who we are

We come from a family of carpenters and have been working in wood for more than 3 generations now. In 1963 our grandfather Shri.Mafatbhai Gajjar started working in the growing town of Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He manufactured wooden doors and windows at an enormous scale and sold raw materials in standardized sizes. Our grandfather established a very well-equipped workshop with vertical and horizontal bandsaw & other machinery suitable for various types of joineries. As time went by, we worked with many well-known developers of Ahmedabad and the government of Gujarat on the housing board's projects. Till today, we supply thousands of doors and windows to builders and architects for commercial buildings, apartments, and individual houses and bungalows.

In 2007, with the experience & skill, we started a 3600sq.ft facility, which is a furniture display showroom named “Walnut Furniture”, that makes traditional style furniture with colonial carving and details. It also houses our own workshop and design studio on the same premises where we develop our vision and ideas for Walnut. It is a complete studio and workshop under one roof, where right from the concept design to carpentry, coating, and lining work is done in-house.

Since 2018, we have been making contemporary customized furniture, where the customer can directly interact with the designers in order to bring life to their own visions without a middle man.
